The Story

The cycling career of Luboš Pelánek has not always been the easiest. He suffered two tough accidents when he was hit by a car during his bicycle ride. In the first case he was forced to get to the hospital by himself since there was nobody to help him. After that, the fresh member of the world class Spanish cycling team Fuenlabrada needed to face a difficult decision: achieve his dream by attending his first big race or recovering from the accident. He has undergone a serious head injury which could make his flight to the race extremely risky due to the pressure in the cabin. Only after the doctor showed him an ultrasound of his own pregnant wife with words: “This is life”, Pelánek decided to stay and recover.

After experiencing such a serious injury, it made him rethink his life values and appreciate life more. When fully recovered after a few months, Luboš Pelánek was back on his bike, prepared to train hard and win. However, his situation got complicated again when he was hit by a car during his training near to Monte Carlo. This time it took him out of the cycling game for years. Tough head-on collision, flesh wounds and multiple fractures didn’t discourage Pelánek from cycling and he started to train again to achieve the very top-level.

The year 2020 will be known as the big comeback of the Italian Champion.
